Pari Livermore and Kathy McGee Burns founded
The Friends of Irish Women to support Philadelphia Area Irish Women in crisis.
After establishing a residence on the east coast, Pari Livermore quickly became active in the Philadelphia Irish community. Through her love of dancing and Irish music, Pari found a core group of friends, including Kathy McGee Burns, who shared her mission to support women of Irish ancestry.
With a mission to share joy and hope during the holiday season, The Friends of Irish Women was formalized as a nonprofit for women in 2021. The friends identified five deserving women and distributed the funds they had raised to them during the holiday season. Motivated by this successful first year, the friends continue to expanding their membership to ensure and increase their support for women in the Philadelphia Irish community.
Top 100 Irish Women in the Philadelphia Area
Celebrating the Top 100 Irish Women in the Philadelphia Area, a benefit was held at the Commodore John Barry Arts and Cultural Center. This event honored 100 women chosen by 32 organizations and societies in the Irish community. The objective was to recognize and acknowledge a job well done. Read More
